Pole position and track record in Barcelona
An exciting weekend in Barcelona on 17/19 September, which saw Inigo Iglesias and SMW Racing, gaining the first pole position of the year.
An excellent job since Friday saw Inigo always be in the hot spots of the standings, and on Saturday with an excellent time he snatched the pole position with the track record just 10 minutes before the start of the session, then remained unbeaten until the end. The Saturday race gave great emotions, with the SMW Racing standard bearer, who managed the race even with some passes in the lead, but at the last corner a contact perhaps at the limit, took Inigo out of line relegating him to the 6th final place.
Race 2 was much tougher, with the usual group of drivers fighting each other. At the beginning of the last lap, however, Inigo inserted the bike with a slightly wide line, and several riders entered the inside, thus causing a group contact that penalized Iglesias the most. In search of recovery, with three corners from the end, Inigo passed on the green area of the track, thus causing the relegation from 9th to 10th position. A shame because here in Barcelona SMW Racing could collect that podium that is now fading at the beginning of the season.
An excellent performance also for Joel Romero, the Argentine who clearly decreased his gap from the leaders both in terms of lap time and race time. Two positive races that launch him in the fight of the central part of the standings.
Indy Offer, on the other hand, continues its growth, increasing the experience in one of the most complex world championships.
SMW Racing is already on its way to the next stage of its Jerez de la Frontera circuit which will take place this weekend and which wants to be another weekend as protagonists.
