Fantastic weekend another podium for SMW Racing
Another very positive weekend for SMW Racing with Inigo Iglesias winning the front row with the second position on the grid, a position that bodes well for the two Supersport 300 races.
Since Friday Inigo I have struck excellent laps, planning the Superpole on Saturday morning perfectly, conquering the second position just a few thousandths from the first.
RACE 1 was not easy at all with a very strong wind and perhaps with a slightly short gear, which did not allow Inigo to express all his potential because it also caused some too many contacts, which in the end affected him and made him finish seventh.
RACE 2, on the other hand, was superb, with Iglesias leading the race from start to finish always in the top three, also leading the race for several laps. The checkered flag was a twist with a driver pushing Inigo to the wall and finishing in third position, but the race direction made the decision to bring Inigo to third so as to be able to close the season with another podium.
Excellent also Joel Romero in great growth who was able to manage a complicated weekend again being the first time he saw him busy on the difficult Portimao track. The championship thus sees SMW Racing in 6th position as Team and Inigo Iglesias in 7th final position.
A superlative year in crescendo that saw SMW Racing gain worldwide appreciation, and Inigo candidate for next year’s future champion. Special thanks go to all the sponsors and staff who made this incredible result possible.
