SMW Racing at Most for round 5 of the WorldSSP300 with Iglesias and Millan

WSSP300 | Prosecco DOC Czech Round | Wednsday 27 July

A little over a month since the last round, the Italian-Polish team flies to the Czech Republic determined to do well with Iglesias and Millan

Just over a month since the last round, which took place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, the SMW Racing team is travelling to Most, in the Czech Republic, for the Prosecco DOC Czech Round, taking place on 29-31 July. Inigo Iglesias is increasingly determined to score his first win of the season, while Alex Millan, who will be riding at the Czech track for the first time, wants to continue along his growth path. For WorldSBK, and its WorldSSP and WorldSSP 300 gateway categories, this weekend marks the second appearance of the Most Circuit on the calendar, after its debut in 2021. A relatively new track for competitors in the production-derived series then, and one that promises to challenge both riders and teams alike. The Italian-Polish team’s Kawasaki Ninja 400 bikes have been among the most competitive and quick to date, particularly during Superpole, with Iglesias having scored three front row starts in four rounds. The Spaniard is just missing a race victory, and Most might offer a good opportunity. Millan too, now fully recovered from injury, can demonstrate his full potential on race day.

The Prosecco DOC Czech Round will get underway on Friday 29 July, with free practice beginning at 09:45 (CET). Superpole will take place on Saturday 30 at the same time, before the first race of the weekend plays out 12:40 (CET). Race 2 will start on Sunday at 15:15 (CET).

INIGO IGLESIAS, #58

“Back on track at last! I really like the Most track, it’s a lot of fun. I’m confident and pumped ahead of the weekend. We’ve been very fast in recent races, although we’ve not been able to fulfil our true potential unfortunately. This is why I’m even more focused and determined to put in a strong performance for me and the entire team”.

ALEX MILLAN, #14

“This will be my first visit to Most and I’m really excited to discover a new track. I’ve been studying it and have prepared as well as I can for the weekend. I think the layout can suit my riding style and I hope to do well right from Friday’s first sessions. We’ll see. I’m definitely pleased with the work we’re doing with the team, despite the injury that has conditioned my riding a little, but I think that if we can immediately find the right direction with our work, we can really fight for the positions that count”.
